Last night, My husband Justin Greenwell was given a word from the Lord. I thought I would share it with some biblical facts to back it up.

We are NOT "free moral agents"

We are bond servants, BOUGHT with the precious blood of Jesus Christ.

The word "servant" Is mentioned in the Bible approximately 845 times.

The Greek translation of Bondservant: One who is subservient to, and eternally at the disposal of his master; a slave.

When we accepted the work on the cross, accepting the magnificent forgiveness that the Lord Jesus offers through salvation.

We were PURCHASED by God at a significant price; The death of his one and only son, Jesus.

Upon accepting eternal salvation, we have bonded ourselves into serving the Lord for the duration of our lives. We are no longer "free moral agents" but rather, we are bound by the word of God and the will of the Lord. A servant to God the Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Inevitably we become a slave to Christ Jesus upon accepting the work of the cross.

"No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. He not serve God and mam-mon" Matthew 6:24

There IS a difference between believing that Jesus is real, that he is Lord and ACTUALLY SERVING Jesus. Even the devils know there is but ONE Lord. James 2:19 " Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

--Upon accepting eternal salvation, you have chosen which master you are going to serve. In Joshua 24:15 the Bible states "choose you this day whom ye will serve". Upon accepting to be covered by the blood of Jesus. You chose that day which master you would SERVE.

An unfaithful servant whom does not choose to listen to the master will not fare well in life. If they choose to disobey the master, they will be fearfully punished, loose privileges, will not receive blessing and may even face death.

A good and faithful servant, listens to his master's commands, and acts diligently to please his master. Pleasing the master, brings forth pleasant gifts, blessings, pleasing reward, praise, and the precious gift of life.

Here are some verses that explain the servant hood that Christians bound themselves through accepting the promise of eternal salvation:

1 Corinthians 4:1 1 Corinthians 7:22-31 Acts 2:18 Acts 16:17 2 Timothy 2:24 1 Peter 2:16 Revelation 7:3, 10:7, 19:2, 19:5, 22:3, 22:6 Ephesians 6:6

EVEN JESUS considered himself a bond-servant of God the father.

Philippians 2:5-8 Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. Mark 10:45 Luke 22:24-30 John 13:12-20 Matthew 20:23-28 Isaiah 53:11

Jesus mentioned parables of servitude in Matthew 25: 14-30 Luke 12:41-48

Many of the great people in the Bible considered themselves servants. Peter- Peter 2:16, 2 Peter 1:1 James-James 1:1 Paul- Romans 1:1, Galatians 1:10, Phillilians 1.1, Titus 1:1 John: Revelation 1:1 Joshua- Joshua 24:29 Moses- Numbers 12:7, Revelation 15:3 David: 2 Samuel 7:5 Timothy-Philippians 1:1 Isaiah-Isaiah 20:3 Epaphras: Colossians 4:12 Abraham-Genesis 26:24 Jude-Jude 1:1

If you call yourself a follower of Jesus, you MUST understand that you are NOT "free to do what you want". Your life IS NOT your own to "do as you wish"

You were BOUGHT with a price, the LIFE of Jesus Christ was given as offering to save and purchase you back into eternal salvation.

WE are SERVANTS OF CHIRST and we MUST start acting like it!!

The result of the servitude to the Lord for the duration of your life is the gift of eternal life.

"But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:22-23

Which master are you going to serve?
